$200 quadcopter vs patriot missile

A $3m patriot missile took down a quadcopter. This occurred because the US wanted to test this invention. A $200 quadcopter bought from amazon was absolutely annihilated by the patriot missile. “It is clearly an enormous overkill,” said Justin Bronk, a researcher at the Royal United Services Institute.

Patriots are radar-targeted weapons that’s purpose is to shoot down enemy aircraft and ballistic missiles. It was designed by Raytheon Hughes and RCA in the year 1969. Since then they have improved significantly. The missiles themselves travel at an incredibly high speed (five times the speed of light) whereas a quadcopter typically has a top speed of 50mph.

Recently, there have been reports about some groups that have been attaching weapons to drones and using them against security forces. Unfortunately the patriot missile was too much of an ‘overkill’ and it would be a waste to use it on something that size.
